Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of globalautocoverage.com, free accounts, our newsletter, the free Rental Counter Checklist and other downloads, and Road Trip & Rental Coverage Handbook. The site is operated by Rip & Ride LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. Education, not insurance or legal advice

Our guides, tools, downloads, emails and the Handbook are general consumer education about car coverage when renting, traveling or driving away from home. They are not insurance or legal advice. We are not an insurer, agent, broker, rental company or travel agency, and we don't sell insurance or recommend specific products. Coverage depends on your own policy, your card's benefit terms, the rental agreement and local law, all of which change. Confirm with your insurer, card issuer, rental company and official government sources before you travel.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account or make a purchase.

3. Free accounts

• Accounts are free. You need a verified email address and a password.
• Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly if you think it's been misused.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or are used to abuse the site.
• Account holders receive account emails (verification and password resets), plus one email when the Coverage Handbook is available only if they ask for it. The newsletter is separate and optional.

4. Road Trip & Rental Coverage Handbook

• When available, the Road Trip & Rental Coverage Handbook is a one-time purchase at the price shown on the Handbook page in US dollars, paid through our third-party payment provider. It includes free updates for at least two years.
• The Handbook is general education and doesn't review your own policy or card benefits.
• It's for your personal use; please don't redistribute it.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

4a. Downloads

The free Rental Counter Checklist and member downloads are free for personal use. You may print and share them with your household, but not resell or republish them.

5. Email

We send the newsletter only to people who sign up and confirm by email, and you can unsubscribe at any time. See our Email and Anti-Spam Policy.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, sign up other people without their permission, submit false information, interfere with the site's security or operation, scrape it in bulk, or send spam or harmful content through our forms.

7. Our content

The site's text, guides, downloads and the Handbook are owned by Rip & Ride LLC and protected by copyright. You may print or save pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please link to us rather than copying our content.

8. Links to other sites

We may link to other websites, such as the US State Department, state DMVs and government travel sites. We're not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that any coverage applies to your situation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rip & Ride LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, arising from your use of the site, guides or Road Trip & Rental Coverage Handbook, or from decisions you make based on them. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or Road Trip & Rental Coverage Handbook is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Rip & Ride LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless the law of your state of residence gives you the right to bring it where you live.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is material, we'll notify members by email. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
